Stone Soup & Lemonade is a community of awesome women which provides conditions/environments to connect, contribute, create, collaborate and celebrate in a positive and uplifting atmosphere; a place to share thoughts and ideas, identify and develop strengths, offer suggestions, play and celebrate.
Referring to the old Stone Soup Tale, when we meet we gather Around the Fire. Each woman brings something special to the group. Not carrots or potatoes (for soup) but her smile, enthusiasm, creativity, joy, strength, curiosity, empathy, compassion or some other gift to share - and just like in the Stone Soup Tale, the "soup" that we make is the most wonderful, amazing nourishment for our hearts and minds.
We use Zoom to connect as our members are from near and far and our members can meet and gather "Around the Fire" online whenever it is convenient for them as we have our own private site for posting thoughts/ideas, questions/answers and creative works like poems, stories, photos and art work. In addition we have our private group rooms that are used for shared-interests groups. The “Village Market” is where all the creatives and business owners are invited to post their information. This online space is all ours – private, with no ads or algorithms.
And the Lemonade? “When Life Gives You Lemons......” reveals strength, creativity and perseverance. No matter the amount of lemons we get, we make lemonade. Awesome women make great "Lemonade". This needs to be celebrated!
Women of all ages are welcome but our focus is on the seniors, elders, crones (an archetypal figure, a Wise Woman), “Grandmothers”………the amazing women who blow out the most candles on their birthday cake. We know who we are and we’re not invisible. We are joy, strength, love, kindness and knowledge – we’re fierce, fun and we’re not finished.
As a matter of fact “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!”
To look at another woman with inspiration rather than the green eyes of envy.
To love another woman as a sister, rather than seeing them as the enemy.
To remember we each, hold love so vast and powerful it could heal the World,
To realize within our femininity is a strength that can moves mountains,
That can either heal or crush another’s soul,
To take our responsibility as the wardens of Mother Earth as a privilege rather than a burden.
To embrace and engage with the unspoken within and without.
To heal our wounds consciously for ourselves, our ancestors, future generations, and one another. To allow the feelings to flow through,
To be acknowledged and let go.
To speak from the heart,
To accept our vulnerabilities as strength,
Sister, I see you as you speak your truth,
Sister, I honor you as you claim who you are,
Sister, I hold you as you rise to who you are destined to be.

In Kathy's Words: "The Stone Soup Tale of sharing and collaboration is the perfect analogy for this Circle of Women. Just like the traveler in the old Stone Soup Tale went from village to village and the people shared what they had - we, too join together with other women in the community to connect, create, contribute, collaborate and celebrate through our posts, cheers, workshops, and other activities...sharing our smiles, laughs, stories, attitude, grace, empathy, talents, skills, knowledge, thoughts and ideas. And we all get to celebrate as we connect with each other.
Plus the saying, “When Life Gives You Lemons...Make Lemonade!” reveals strength, creativity and perseverance. No matter the amount of lemons we get, we make lemonade.
People often ask me what I’m doing now that I’m “retired” and I say…."Well, I’ve never stood still and retirement hasn’t changed that at all. In fact, I feel like I’m just getting started!!"
I am, and it seems I've always been, an educator and facilitator who loves to create experiences and environments in which people have fun and see, feel, sense, how awesome they are, and I do that in a variety of ways - through community-based movement, music, dance, self-discovery and creative play.
The world we live in today is so filled with possibilities and I just don’t want to stop having fun, spreading joy, and helping people wake-up to their own awesomeness.
Come join me! Let's make Stone Soup.
